I had a great post planned for today about sharing updates on the house (look for it on Thursday), it just needed some last minute edits, and then I got sick. Ugh! I don’t have time for this. Mark is out of town for the next three days and my stepson has baseball the next three nights (not the norm) and there’s a PTA meeting on Thursday at my stepdaughter’s school. This is really not a good time to be sick!
I’m joining in the Write 31 Days Challenge next month and I’ve been preparing a series on living with purpose. One of the key aspects of living with purpose is knowing when to take care of yourself so that you are able to take care of others. I have so much I could do today and so much I planned to do over the next three days, but what I need to do right now is take care of me.
So, today, the housework probably won’t get done, the errands I needed to run will have to wait, and the bedroom is definitely not getting painted. If I chose to do those things, my energy would run out long before this day is over, and I wouldn’t have the energy to take care of the little people who are going to need me this afternoon, and there’s a good chance that tomorrow I would feel worse. So I’m going to drink hot tea and Dayquil and maybe take a nap because right now, that is living on purpose.
