We move this weekend! Our closing is on Thursday, and then we will have a marathon moving weekend, but I feel like I have already been sprinting to the finish line. Our closing is less than four weeks from the date we signed the contract, which is shorter than normal. Throw in Christmas, New Year’s, a trip to Tennessee, a trip to the Outer Banks to work on rental properties, the kids starting their new schools already so we have to drive an hour to school one-way, I am already exhausted.
The good thing about the kids starting their new schools is that once I get to our new town, I have to wait out the day while they are in school. Yesterday was full of errands, but today, I’m taking time to sit at a coffee shop, to write, and just to breathe. I have so much I need to do, but most of it is either packing at home or errands that need to wait until we actually have the new house, so today, I am forced to relax. And I am SO grateful!
Have you ever been there? You have so much to do and yet you are forced to take a break? It can seem like such a nuisance! Stuff needs to get done! But what if we just enjoyed it, accepted that little bit of grace in our schedules and just relaxed, rested, breathed?
Sometimes we try to become Superwoman, doing it all, having it all, and it leaves us exhausted. Today, I encourage you to be mindful of when you need rest. I have heard from so many women who have all of these great things going on, yet they have become worn down from being constantly on all the time. Let’s find rest and know that in doing so, we are better prepared for the marathon of our days.
