I can’t believe September is coming to an end already! Where does the time go? I’ll confess I didn’t get as much read this month as I had hoped. Here’s a recap of my September reading list:
What I read:
- 7: an Experimental Mutiny Against Excess – Jen Hatmaker
- Balancing It All – Candace Cameron Bure
- Praying in Color – Sybil MacBeth
- Good Poems – edited by Garrison Keillor
What I’m still reading:
- Billy Graham in Quotes – edited by Franklin Graham with Donna Lee Toney
- Made to Crave Devotional – Lysa TerKeurst
What I didn’t get to:
- Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
I enjoyed Balancing It All. It really encouraged me to put thought behind the way I do things and what all I take on. I loved how Candace shared the steps she has taken over the years and the reasoning behind how she does things from parenting to work.
7. Wow. If you haven’t read this book, I strongly encourage it. It will really challenge you to think beyond yourself. Especially in a culture that tells us more is never enough, this really puts things in perspective. We have so much more than most of the world and have fallen prey to the lie that it is not enough for us to be content.
So here’s my list for October:
- Made to Crave Devotional – Lysa TerKeurst – this is a 60-day devotional that I will be finishing this month
- Stopping Stress Before It Stops You – Dr. Kevin Leman
- Say Goodbye to Survival Mode – Crystal Paine
- Graceful – Emily Freeman
- Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen – I really am going to read this book this month!
I’ve made some book choices that will go along with my October series. I’m joining the Nester for 31 Days! Check back on Wednesday to learn more about this daily month-long series. I also haven’t chosen too many books for October in hopes of finishing them all and because it will be a busy month, with a daily series and the Allume conference.
What are you reading this month? Any recommendations for future months?
