Welcome back to Day 10 of 31 Days to a Life of Purpose!
Today I want to talk about the importance of our attitude when pursuing a life of purpose. Specifically I want us to focus on choosing joy in the midst of our days.
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” – Charles R. Swindoll
When talking about living a life of purpose, much of that has to do with how we respond to the things we cannot control. We can set goals and create habits and pursue life intentionally, but then we can get so focused on controlling our lives that we get derailed by the unexpected. When those unexpected things come, we have to choose joy, in the good, in the bad, in everything in-between.
We serve a God who is in control. Romans 8:28 tells us “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God is not caught by surprise in those unexpected moments. We can choose joy because He’s got this. And Nehemiah 8:10 tells us “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” Choose to embrace this promise.
