Welcome back to 31 Days to Less Stress! I hope you were able to spend some time writing out your prayer yesterday and remembered to read it this morning. If you didn’t remember, it’s okay. Go do it now. Really. I’ll wait.
…
I think it’s super important to start the day of right by clearing our heads, talking to God, and gaining focus for the day. This let’s us start our day with purpose and not get thrown into the fray.
Around here, Thursdays are going to be Get Clean Thursdays! Each Thursday, I’ll be bringing a quick chore that will make life a little less cluttered, a little less stressed.
To kick off Get Clean Thursday, I have a daily chore for you. I promise I won’t keep assigning daily tasks, but I think this one is important and can be a huge help!
I get stressed when things aren’t clean. There are those daily things like cleaning the kitchen and laundry that get done, but other chores get lost in the shuffle (baseboards, I’m talking to you). I also don’t like giving up a huge chunk of my Saturday for cleaning. It certainly doesn’t make for a restful weekend.
My challenge to you is this – a 15-minute daily deep clean. Make it fun. Put on some music. Set a timer and make it a race to see how much you can get done. Think of it like exercise and dance around as you do it.
Making this a daily habit that you do Monday – Saturday will keep chores from piling up and will help you avoid the stress that mounting housework can cause. For me, part of tackling stress is not getting behind on things.
Join me again tomorrow as we continue our series on reducing stress this month!
